History

The almost 200-year history of the family business, in which textile knowledge, traditions and innovative strength have been passed on through generations, stretches from 1833 to the present day. In the Zurich Oberland in Turbenthal, the fabrics produced in Europe are still conceived and the designs characteristic of Schlossberg are drawn by hand at the original site under the direction of CEO Ivar Jeker.

At home in the Töss Valley

The Töss, the river, the water - it magically attracted the textile industry in the early 19th century. This was because innovative progress was still driven by waterpower at the time; the energy supply for large machines was available.

The spinning mill

In 1833, Lieutenant Johann Kaspar Winkler opened a stately spinning mill building with a waterwheel and gearbox in Turbenthal. The spinning mill, where Jakob Boller also bought the yarns for his fabric manufactory in 1878, had 7344 spindles and a water wheel with 22 HP.
